How long will it take to build a custom home?

What are the differences between a spec home and a custom home?
A spec home is one that the builder chooses to build and select the finishes and floor plans. Generally, spec homebuyers don’t have any input in the design of the spec home but can choose some of the finishes, depending on how far along the construction is when the home is listed for sale. On the other hand, a custom home is specifically designed and created to be custom fit to you, your needs, and your desires. You will have a hand one very decision when building a custom home, and the home is designed to fit all your family’s specific lifestyle needs from the inside out.
Do I need to pre-purchase my lot, or can the builder help me out?
If you haven’t stumbled upon the perfect lot yet, your builder should be able to help you find one that meets your needs. It’s important to look at different lots in different neighbors that fall within your price range.
What time of the year should I buy my custom home?
